The complete canon of the first lunar crescent for Babylon from -2000 to 1 is given here and exactly 24761 first lunar crescents occur during these 2002 years. The following tables include the Julian Day at Universal Time; the year, the month, and the day of the Julian calendar; the moon’s topocentric apparent altitude above the horizon at the beginning and at the end of civil twilight; the illuminated fraction of the moon’s disk (e.g. 0.00 for the new moon and 1.00 for the full moon) at the beginning of civil twilight; the moon’s age (i.e. time elapsed since new moon) at the beginning of civil twilight; and the difference between the moon’s topocentric azimuth and the sun’s azimuth at the beginning and at the end of civil twilight.
