Call for Peer Reviewers

Feral Feminisms, a new independent, inter-media, peer reviewed, open access online journal, is seeking peer reviewers to join the Editorial Team. No previous experience is required and graduate students at various stages of their careers are encouraged to apply.

Feral Feminisms takes the feral as a provocative call to focus on untaming, undomesticating, queering, and radicalizing feminist thought and practice today. It is a space for students and scholars, artists and activists, to engage with the many sites and problematics of feminist studies –as understood broadly and across disciplines, genres, methods, politics, times, and contexts. The Albert M. Greenfield Digital Center for the History of Women’s Education (Web)

The Women’s History in the Digital World conference brings together scholars working on women’s history projects with a digital component, exploring the complexities of creating, managing, researching and teaching with digital resources. This is the first conference of The Albert M. Greenfield Digital Center for the History of Women’s Education, an online repository and resource for materials related to the history of women’s education located at Bryn Mawr College. Aletta, Institute for Women’s history, the owner of database Mapping the World has launched her new name: Atria, Institute on Gender Equality and Women’s History

On 28 January 2013, at a festive ceremony in Amsterdam, the new name of the Institute on Gender Equality and Women’s History was revealed. It is Atria. This institute results from the merger of Aletta, Institute for Women’s History and E-Quality, Information Centre for Gender, Family and Diversity Issues. Both institutions have a long history of advocating for gender equality and women’s history.

Atria is the institute on gender equality and women’s history. It provides a deep understanding of women – in all their diversity – and their history: Atria identifies opportunities and challenges for equal rights and the empowerment of women. She brings these issues to light through her library and archive, as well as by publishing research, expert opinions and whitepapers and providing trainings for government, business and educational institutions. International Federation for Research in Women’s History/Federation Internationale pourdes Femmes (Web) – Newsletter December 2012/Issue 53 online (PDF)

The IFRWH/FIRHF was founded in April 1987. The first meeting of national committee representatives was held in 1989, in Bellagio, Italy, with the assistance of the Rockefeller Foundation.

The Aim of IFRWH/FIRHF is to encourage and coordinate research in all aspects of women’s history at the international level, by promoting exchange of information and publication and by arranging and assisting in arranging large-scale international conferences as well as more restricted and specialized meetings. Verein zur Förderung der Dokumentation von Frauennachlässe (Web)

Vom Verein zur Förderung der Dokumentation von Frauennachlässen wurde 2012 ein von der MA57 der Stadt Wien Frauenförderung und Koordination von Frauenangelegenheiten finanziertes Bibliographieprojekt durchgeführt.

Recherchiert wurden dabei unveröffentlichte Tagebücher von Wiener Frauen in Wiener Archiven. Die Ergebnisse werden exklusiv hier im Salon 21 sowie auf der Site der Sammlung Frauennachlässe veröffentlicht und für Forschungszwecke zur Verfügung gestellt.

Bisher konnten in sechs Archiven 116 Nach- und Vorlassbestände recherchiert werden, die Tagebücher oder tagebuchähnliche Aufzeichnungen von Frauen enthalten.

soziologiemagazin e.V. (Web)

Das soziologiemagazin e.V. ist ein Projekt, dass neben einem Blog, einem YouTube-Channel und den Social Media ein Soziologiemagazin zu wechselnden Themen herausgibt. Es richtet sich konkret an Studierende und junge Nachwuchswissenschaftler_innen.

Die aktuelle Ausgabe befasst sich beispielsweise mit dem Thema “Wirtschaft – Arbeit – Märkte” und ist als kostenloses eJournal auf der Webseite, aber auch gedruckt beim Barbara Budrich Verlag erhältlich.

In der Sammlung Frauennachlässe, c/o Institut für Geschichte der Universität Wien, wird derzeit ein von der MA57 der Stadt Wien Frauenförderung und Koordination von Frauenangelegenheiten finanziertes Bibliographieprojekt durchgeführt.

Recherchiert werden dabei unveröffentlichte Tagebücher von Wiener Frauen in Wiener Archiven. Das Ergebnis wird Anfang 2013 online auf der Website der Sammlung Frauennachlässe sowie im Salon 21 veröffentlicht und für Forschungszwecke zur Verfügung gestellt werden.
