The method was applied for quantities in a 2D-domain. Since the stations have different elevations they are divided into three different overlapping "groups" depending on their elevation. All stations up to 750 m station height are in the first group ("level 1"), all stations between 500 and 2500m are in the second group ("level 2") and all stations above 2000m are in the third group ("level 3"). The stations b and d appear in two different "groups" (see figure).
