European Journal of Mineralogy

The European Journal of Mineralogy (EJM) is one of the leading journals in Mineralogical Sciences. It was promoted by EMU and founded in 1989.

 

The emblem of EJM is a sixling of chrysoberyl and chosen as a sign of co-operation of all the European mineralogical societies.

EJM is published under the auspices of the
European Mineralogical Union (EMU)

Since the foundation of EJM, the development of electronic facilities allowed a number of improvements for authors and readers:

  • All papers are posted as 'fast-track articles' on the EJM Ingenta website as soon as the corrections are implemented, without waiting for the pagination of the issue. As a result, papers are citable through their final DOI one to two months ahead of the print publication.
  • A news release about EJM's recent launch is available on the GeoScienceWorld (GSW) website.
  • EJM is launched at GSW's website. Starting with volume 1, all papers are now available online and searchable on the GSW website; supplementary data can be linked to published articles and are freely accessible online, just as are the abstracts, editorials, obituaries and IMA reports.

With the help of the managing editor Christan Chopin, the chief and associate editors, the many colleagues who acted as referees as well as the Publisher Schweizerbart it was possible keeping the ISI impact factor stable above 1.2 during the past years. This improved efficiency makes EJM an attractive vehicle for timely publication of important results. EMU thanks all being involved maintaining the high standard of the journal as well as CNRS for continued support.

Traditionally, EJM publishes special issues on the occasion of landmark sessions held during Europe based international meetings and conferences.
