Cornelia Wallner, PhD., received the Recognition
Award of [the Federal State of] Lower Austria, endowed with € 4,000, for
her dissertation "Interdisziplinäre Medienmarktanalyse. Ein theoriegeleitetes
Analysemodell mit kommunikations-wissenschaftlichen und ökonomischen Indikatoren".
The Lower Austrian Science Awards were conferred in a ceremony held on 14 November,
2008 at the Danube University [Donauuniversität], Krems.

with € 2,200, for his dissertation “Die unverstandene Kultur. Perspektiven

Astrid Dietrich, PhD., received the Science Award of the
Margaretha Lupac Foundation, endowed with € 15,000, for her dissertation “Medien

im intermedialen Vergleich mit besonderer Berücksichtigung des Qualitäts-
und Boulevardaspektes“, University of Vienna, dissertation, 2006.
Klaus Kiensberger received for his thesis “Der Österreich-Diskurs in der DDR von 1970 bis 1980. Eine kommunikationsgeschichtliche Annäherung anhand des Diskursbeitrags Sepp Plieseis” the Herbert Steiner Recognition Award.
