Curriculum


The curriculum of the course covers the following areas:

Relevant, practical, essential knowledge and research competence
High degree of sensibility and problem consciousness
Journalistic competences (multimedia, online, video, public relations)
Critical analysis
Practice in using the new media, e.g. the internet
 

The definite program provides the following activities:

Practical training in media companies or in public relations departments of minority organizations
Project handling for working groups in cooperation with non-university organizations
Framework of studies (sociology, psychology, political science, cultural management)
 

The schedule informs about the detailed structure and contents of the Vienna-Model.

Certificate


For the successful completion of the entire Media and Minorities Program students will recieve an interuniversity, international certificate that can be stated in their CVs additionally to their formal degree.
 


Term

The interuniversity project studies connected to the Media and Minorities Program will last for 4 terms.
Preperations were running since spring 1995.
The project started in Vienna in March 1996.
The ending of the project is expected for spring 2000.
 


Financing

Needs:
Travelling/meetings for staff
Travelling/meetings for students (trainee programs in media companies)
Administrative and organizational assistance

Partners:
University (lectureships and tutorships)
