Special Rapporteur on Torture concludes visit to the Kyrgyz Republic

Between 5 and 13 December, the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, Juan Mendez, carried out a fact-finding mission to the Kyrgyz Republic. Subsequently, he presented his preliminary findings on the situation of torture and ill-treatment, the investigation of torture allegations, the administration of justice and the conditions of detention in the country.
