Armenia: CPT publishes report

The Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) has released the report on its ad hoc visit to Armenia in December 2011. The CPT also published the response of the Armenian government.
The report shows that, in general, behaviour of staff towards prisoners was correct but some conditions of detention could be considered as amounting to inhuman treatment. The delegation also criticised the lack of implementation of previous CPT recommendations.
