Panel
Sport - Identity - Gender

'My son plays football, my daughter goes to ballet' - in the course of historical development, to what extent were and are children already pushed into gender-defined kinds of sport by their surroundings? What are the effects of certain types of sport on the gender classification of the individual or group practising them? Who defines certain kinds of sport as gender-specific? What role does masculinity or femininity play in constructing identities? How are deviations from the norm - women in male-dominated sports, men in female-dominated sports - dealt with?
