Student Seminar

Parallel to the XIth International Congress of Sports History (CESH) a Student Seminar will be hold in Vienna, organized by our Spanish colleagues Teresa Gonzáles Aja and Vicente Gomez who will bring a group of about 25 Spanish students to Vienna.

Student seminars have also taken place the previous years and students from Italy and Greece joined them several times. This year our Spanish friends and we as organizers of the Viennese CESH congress want to invite students from all over the world to take also part at this seminar!

The seminar will last 30 hours altogether. There will be special papers only given for the students and the whole group will listen to some papers of the congress which will be selected by Teresa and Vicente. Besides the visits of plenary sessions like the honorary addresses and some of the keynote-speeches will also be included in the seminar.

Following preliminary program for the Spanish students is planned:

Monday, Sept. 18th	Travel to Salzburg by train (with T. Gonzales Aja, Vicente Gomez, Fernando García Romero, Rodrigo Pardo)

Wednesday, Sept. 20th	Closing ceremony
Thursday, Sept. 21st	Departure

Ad 1) registration
The participants have to register for the CESH congress. You will find all information on our homepage www.univie.ac.at/cesh2006 (link "Registration")!
The registration fee includes:
Welcome snack on Saturday
Dinners on Sunday and Tuesday
Lunches on Sunday and Tuesday
Cakes and coffee during the coffee breaks
Congress utensils
Congress Proceedings
Important: !!! The costs for the train ticket to Salzburg are NOT included !!!

Ad 2) travel
The participants have to organize their journey to Vienna by themselves.
We will try to get cheap tickets for the train to Salzburg for the participants of the student seminar but the ticket will have to be paid by each participant him/herself!

Ad 3) housing
The participants of the student seminar should reserve their hotels directly. The University of Vienna cooperates with a travel agency that offers accomodation at prices to suit every pocket. Feel free to contact them (see also homepage www.univie.ac.at/cesh2006; link "Housing").

This travel agency offers for our participants also the "Jugendgaestehaus Pfeilgasse" (no. 8 on their map), where our Spanish friends will stay, which offers also cheaper three- or four-bed rooms! Please ask for them!
