Panel Sport - Identity - Theory
The question of one's own identity becomes particularly acute under the conditions of accelerated, comprehensive social and political changes, the mass creation of incomplete lives as 'normal lives', as Ulrich Beck, for one, has subsumed it under the catchword 'Second Modernity'. The phenomenon of 'sport and identity' considered from the most varied theoretical perspectives is thus of great interest. Cultural science, historical biographical research, anthropology, social psychology, systems theory and systemic constructivism are among the perspectives offered.
