Peter Slezak is Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Program in Cognitive Science in the School of History & Philosophy at the University of New South Wales. His BA(Hons) is from University of New South Wales, and his MPhil and PhD in philosophy from Columbia University, New York. With research publications in the areas of philosophy of mind, philosophy of language and cognitive science, Slezak’s special interests are in problems of mental representation and the work of René Descartes. As a combatant in the “Science Wars” he has also published widely on science education and the sociology of science. His current book project is on philosophical issues concerning the mind and is tentatively titled Cartesian Cognitive Science: Where Philosophy Goes When it Dies.
