Short Bio

Achim Landwehr is Professor of Early Modern History at the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf. He studied History and Law at the universities of Augsburg, Basel, Freiburg, and Trinity College Dublin. His main fields of research are the cultural history of early modern Europe, concepts of time in the early modern period, and the theory of history. Among his main publications are: Kulturgeschichte (UTB: Stuttgart 2009); Historische Diskursanalyse (Campus: Frankfurt/Main 2008); Die Erschaffung Venedigs. Raum, Bevölkerung, Mythos 1570–1750 (Schöningh: Paderborn 2007) (ed.); and Frühe Neue Zeiten. Zeitwissen zwischen Reformation und Revolution (transcript: Bielefeld 2012).
