Short Bio
Tom Froese received his D.Phil. in Cognitive Science from the University of Sussex in 2009. The focus of his doctoral research was the relationship between life, mind and sociality, which he explored using a variety of methods, including evolutionary robotics and philosophical phenomenology. More recently he has been interested in the cross-section of phenomenological and systemic approaches in the study of consciousness. In 2010 he was a post-doctoral researcher at the Sackler Centre for Consciousness Science in Brighton, and now he is a JSPS post-doctoral researcher in the Ikegami Laboratory of the University of Tokyo.
