Information – Registration – Admission
Admission to the University of Vienna is a three step process. First, check the study programmes. Second, register online for your preferred study programme. Third, enrol in the programme in the Main Building of the University of Vienna.
New application procedures for programmes commencing in the winter semester 2013/2014 and summer semester 2014
The study programmes Pharmacy, Biology, Nutritional Sciences; and Business, Economics and Statistics commencing in the winter semester 2013/2014 as well as the bachelor’s programme Psychology and the baccalaureate programme Mass Media and Communication Science are subject to application procedures. Registration started on 15 April 2013.

Registration for additional study programmes
You may apply for admission to bachelor’s, teacher education or diploma programmes commencing in the winter semester 2013/2014 from 17 June to 5 September 2013.
Information and deadlines
Introductory and orientation period (STEOP)
During the first semester the STEOP courses allow you to make a realistic assessment of the study programme’s content and requirements. Only after passing all STEOP examinations, you can attend advanced courses.

The Masters programme "Environmental Sciences" has been offered since the winter semester 2013. The application period for the coming academic year ends on 15 April 2013.

Marie Jahoda Summer School 2013
From July 8 till July 12, 2013 the Department of Sociology of the University of Vienna is organising the Marie Jahoda Summer School with the topic "Migration and Inequalities". The application deadline is April 25, 2013.

The admission period for summersemester 2013 for bachelor, diploma and teacher accreditation programmes has finished. The admission period for wintersemester 2013/14 lasts from June 17th to 5th of September 2013.

Vienna Quantum Fellowships
The Fellowships of the Vienna Center for Quantum Science and Technology (VCQ) will be awarded on both the PhD- and the postdoc-level on the basis of an international competition. Deadline for the application is April 28, 2013.

The University of Vienna welcomes visiting PhD-Students from all over the world. As visiting PhD-Student you are enrolled and can stay up to a year. You have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of activities.
