Welcome to ESEC

ESEC promotes the development of awareness for the common cultural area Europe and the plain and lifelong learning as requirement for a high educational standard and standard of living of the citizens of Europe [Learn more on our Mission]. The European Society for Education and Communication (ESEC) was founded on 1st April 2005 in the context of the GRUNDVIG-Project as association according to German right consisting of members from different European countries.

ESEC every year awards the EuroMedia Award and the EduMedia Award as a part of the ESEC Comenius Awards [Learn more on the Award]. The ESEC Comenius Awards are honoury awards and therefore not connected with any financial benefits for the winners. The value of the award lies mainly in the fact that the awarded projects get international attention. Moreover this award was always a good reason and criterion for financial support of further projects given by public institutions. Within the past years the ESEC with its Comenius Awards became a competent network entity between various projects and project operators. It is not only recognized but also appreciated by experts, award candidates and award winners.

In 2009, the Erasmus Media Awards have been awarded on 16 October in Vienna.
