FEBS-UNESCO Bursaries
FEBS Logo UNESCO Logo

Due to the very high number of requests and applications for fellowships/bursaries, we were heavily oversubscribed and therefore unable to grant all fellowship/bursary applications. However, UNESCO and FEBS have therefore agreed to provide funds for up to 10 additional bursaries for FEMALE students and postdoctoral fellows from less-favored regions in Eastern European Countries.

FEBS-UNESCO bursaries will be awarded to selected eligible applicants, who have not received support from other bursaries. The following criteria must be fullfilled to be selected for a FEBS-UNESCO Fellowship by the organizers:

Eligibility, Conditions & Restrictions:

Ph.D/postdoctoral researcher applicants must fullfill:

  1. Female Ph.D or postdoc within 5 years of obtaining their PhD.
  2. working in a FEBS constituent or associated society preferably in the eastern countries.
  3. Must have submitted an abstract as first author.
  4. Willing to participate in the WISE (Women in Science) career-lunch at FEBS2007.
  5. Willling to undergo a career-profiling interview at FEBS2007.

The chosen FEBS-UNESCO Fellows will be contacted directly by the organizers within the next weeks - no applications are necessary or can be made.
