Careers - Women in Science - Science Policy -
Funding Opportunities


Can careers in science be planned? How can we address overcome lingering and burning gender issues? These questions will be addressed by working groups and case examples. Moreover, policy makers and representatives of funding bodies shall discuss future needs in life science funding and policy making. Special workshops and events shall discuss the start of the FP7 framework program, as well as report on the status of the newly established European Research Council. Female FEBS2007 participants will also have the possibilty to enlist for a WISE-career lunch, where they will have opportunities to discuss career options with leading female scientists. Public Understanding OF and FOR Science -
Science & Society


Scientists need to improve communication with the broad public, policy makers and the media. Special workshops will provide educational activities involving schools, teachers and media journalists, a school competition in genetics, a media writing contest, “Science on Stage” will round up the FEBS2007 program.
