Welcome to the group Micromaterials

Institute of Materials Physics, University of Vienna

Main Research fields:

Micromaterials are essential components of microsystems, microsensors, microelectronic devices being used in the car-, aviation and telecommunication industry.

At present the knowledge of deformation characteristics of micromaterials is required, because they define the reliability and the lifetime of such miniaturized systems.

Our main objective is to study thermal, mechanical and structural properties of such small scaled structures. Thus our group is specializing in material physics in micro dimensions. We focus on fundamental- as well as applied research  in cooperation with industry. Our investigations include:

Other research fields:

Fatigue properties of PM- materials

in cooperation with Technical University Vienna

Univ. Prof. Dipl. Ing. Dr. Herbert Danninger

 Powder Metallurgy Laboratory

Laser speckle sensors for material testing

in cooperation with Johannes Keppler University Linz

Univ.Prof. Dipl.Ing. Dr. Bernhard Zagar

Institute for Measurement Technology
