CV Essentials
Kurt Heidenberger has been Professor and Chair of Innovation and Technology Management, University of Vienna, Austria since 1993. He received a M.A. in Mathematics (Dipl.-Math.), a Ph.D. in Economics and Social Science (Dr. rer. pol.), and the Habilitation in Business Administration (Dr. rer. pol. habil.), all from the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. In 1984 he was Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Harvard School of Public Health, Boston, Mass., USA. From 1979 to 1983 and 1985 through 1989 he worked with the Department of Operations Research, University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. In 1990 he served as Interim Replacement Professor of Human Resource Management at the University of Cologne, Germany. From 1991 to 1993 he was Professor of Corporate Planning at the University of Bremen, Germany. In 1993 he received a call to the Chair of Public Administration, Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt, Germany. In 1999 he received a call to the Chair of Health Economics, University of Cologne, Germany. From 2002 to 2004 he acted as Dean of Academic Affairs at the School of Business, Economics, and Informatics, University of Vienna, Austria.
The Health Applications Section of the German Society for Operations Research was chaired by Professor Heidenberger from 1983 to 1994.
His work has been published in such journals as Operations Research, European Journal of Operational Research, OR Spectrum, Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, IMA Journal of Management Mathematics, Methods of Information in Medicine, Medical Decision Making, Health Care Management Science, International Journal of Healthcare Technology and Management, International Journal of Technology Management, IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management, International Journal of Management Reviews, and Zeitschrift für Betriebswirtschaft.
