Commentary

The article is divided in two sessions; the first one is about the lost inscription of Canevoi, for which he points a Venetic dativ and ablativ plural in -bos < e.g.*-bhos, similar to the Gaulish -bo(s) and the Latin -bus; furthermore, the first session is about the analogy of the -oi and -ei forms in the inscription with the Lepontic ones, questioning if both of them belong to the same grammatic construction. In the second edition, referring to Hirt 1905-7, he speaks about the function of the dativ forms in -ui and -ei: the Lepontic language is a variation of Continental Celtic ("Mundart"), which is unobserved from the accepted Gaulish sources, so that it can't attest a less advanced linguistical evolution stage of those of the other documents.
