Commentary

Eska & Wallace (1999: 122-133, cp. Solinas 1994: 352) argue, that from a linguistic point of view the language of this inscription is probably Celtic. They resume the arguments of Prosdocimi (1984c: 425-426) and Lejeune (1989: 71) for the ascription of this inscription to the Venetic corpus: 1) Venetic context, 2) monument is characteristic of the Veneti, 3) alphabet used is Venetic.
