Burkina FasoThe official (government) website is http://www.primature.gov.bf/. There is also the university on http://www.univ-ouaga.bf/. The box on the map above is where Koromfe is spoken, the language I’ve been working on for more than 20 years. Here’s a sample (click the Koromfe text to hear it):
spoken by Mr. Souleymane Sawadogo (from Donombene) in 1985 in Ouagadougou. You can also see (and partly hear) a prototype of my revised Koromfe dictionary. And if you have the patience, here’s a video clip of the Chief of Lorom* (14 MB) telling the history of the Koromba (with French oral translation by Kassoum Konfé) and a short video clip of some Koromba children (3 MB). *Lorom is roughly the western half of the Koromfe-speaking area. Its chief has resided in Mengao for the past few decades, but earlier moved from village to village (probably due to political / military pressure). Today Loroum (note the extra "u") is the name of the province around Titao (where Koromfe is no longer spoken); please don't ask me why. The map below is an expansion of the box on the map above. It shows “my village”, Pobé-Mengao, in red. Here are some photos taken in and around Pobé-Mengao, and here are 2 taken in Ouagadougou. |
