Painless Gabor expansions on homogeneous manifolds

We present a novel approach to the definition of Gabor systems on homogeneous manifolds with compact stabilizers. The associated Gabor transform has several attractive properties: It maps $L^2$-functions to continuous functions on the cotangent bundle, and preserves $L^2$-norms. Moreover, it is covariant with respect to the natural group action on the cotangent bundle.
As an example, we present the case of the sphere in more detail.
