In recent years various redundant representations have gained enormous attention. These representations range from very sparse to very "flat" (Kashin representation). I will discuss theoretical and practical advances of these representations in applications ranging from the peak-to-average problem in OFDM to Successive Interference Cancellation in Multicarrier Communication and High Resolution Radar.
