- Begin of the work for the Ph.D at the institute for applied physics at the university of Vienna (Prof. K. Seeger). Title: "Siliziumsolarzellen mittels Epitaxie auf kostengünstigen Substraten".
- 1981 - 1984
- Scientific worker at the Ludwig Boltzmann Institut für Festkörperphysik. Involved with a R&D project of the Forschungsförderungsfonds für die Gewerbliche Wirtschaft and Shell Austria concerning photovoltaic solar cells for terrestrial applications ("Photovoltaische Solarzellen für terrestrische Energiegewinnung").
- Since 1984
- Universitätsassistent at the Institut für Festkörperphysik at the university of Vienna. Major areas of scientific research work are (i) semiconductor physics (project P7511-TEC of the Fonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung:"Fourier-Spektroskopie an III - V Halbleitern und Silizium", (ii) high temperature super conductivity (project P8180 of the Fonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung:"Elektrische und optische Eigenschaften von Hochtemperatursupraleitern"), and (iii) photovoltaics (project P5358 of the Fonds zur Förderung der wissenschaftlichen Forschung: "Verunreinigungen in Ferrosilizium höherer Reinheit", Joule-Thermie project "CRYSTAL" of the European Community, cooperative program with the technical university in Bratislava, Slovakia and the technical university Vienna, member in the egytian educational program on photovoltaics).
