The observation of pulsating stars enables us to derive their physical parameters like mass, temperature, louminosity, and composition and to test stellar evolution theory. The results can also be applied on other stars. Asteroseismology, an analogon to geoseismology, makes it possible to "look" into the stellar interior by measuring the oscillation of the star.
