At the 10th Congressus Internationalis Fenno-Ugristarum in Yoshkar-Ola, Mari El, a meeting invited by Professor Ferenc Havas (Budapest), supported by many other colleagues from various countries, decided to initiate a project for a handbook or database of Uralic language typology. The planning of the concrete work is still very much in progress; see the Documents page and the material from the kick-off conference in Vienna in September 2008. The next milestone will be the typology symposium organized in connection with the 11th International Congress of Finno-Ugric Studies in Piliscsaba 2010.
