EURIAS – Call for applications
Nachwuchs- und erfahrene Wissenschaftler/innen aus den Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften können sich wieder für ein 10-monatiges Forschungsstipendium an insgesamt 16 europäischen Institutes for Advanced Study bewerben – darunter auch am IWM in Wien.

2013 ADTSG Graduate Student Paper Prize
The Alcohol, Drug, and Tobacco Study Group (ADTSG) of the Society for Medical Anthropology requests submissions for the best graduate student paper in the anthropology of alcohol, drugs, pharmaceuticals, tobacco or similar substances. Qualifying submissions will be judged by a committee of ADTSG members. The author of the winning paper will receive a cash award of $100 and her or his name will be announced in Anthropology News and at the Society for Medical Anthropology awards ceremony at the American Anthropological Association Annual Meeting in November. Submissions from all anthropological sub-disciplines are encouraged.
Submission deadline is September 1, 2013.

Forschungsstipendien des Integrationsfonds
Der Integrationsfonds vergibt Forschungsstipendien für abgeschlossene Diplom-, Masterarbeiten und Dissertationen im Bereich der Integration von Migrant/innen und Flüchtlingen.
Die Bewerbungsfrist ist der 30. Juni 2013.

Vergeben werden pro Ausschreibung bis zu 5 Stipendien für Diplom-/Masterarbeiten à 2.000 Euro.

Gefördert werden ausschließlich Diplom-, Masterarbeiten und Dissertationen
Zielgruppe: Absolvent/innen österreichischer Universitäten und Fachhochschulen.

CALL FOR APPLICATION
STRANIAK ACADEMY FOR DEMOCRACY AND HUMAN RIGHTS
From 8 to 21 September 2013 the first Straniak Academy for Democracy and Human Rights will take place in Budva/Montenegro. It was established by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Human Rights (BIM) in Vienna in cooperation with the Faculties of Law, Sociology and Political Science of the Universities of Vienna and Montenegro.
The goal of the Academy is to promote academic tuition on democratisation and human rights in Southeast European States. The focus is to create a bridge between academia and practice, promoted through an interdisciplinary and interactive format. To keep abreast with political, legal and social changes and to underscore the Academy’s continuous relevance for future professionals, a reasonable part of each year’s programme shall focus on different topical themes.
The call is now open until 23 June 2013.

Stefan Heißenberger (stefan.heissenberger@gmx.at) hat von der österreichischen Akademie der Wissenschaften ein Doc-Stipendium mit einer Laufzeit von 3 Jahren (Vollzeit) für sein Dissertationsprojekt "Abseitsspieler. Queere und ethnisch geprägte Fußballmannschaften zwischen Ausgrenzung, Empowerment und Subversion" erhalten.
