Biographical Note: Fabio Rambelli
Fabio Rambelli was born in Ravenna, Italy. He received his
BA in Japanese language and Culture from the University of
Venice, and his doctorate in East Asian Studies from the
Italian Ministry of Scientific Research in 1992 after
carrying out research at the University of Venice, the
Oriental Institute in Naples, and Tokyo University of
Foreign Studies. He is currently assistant professor of
religious studies, cultural studies, and Japanese religions
at Sapporo University in Japan.
Main Publications: Itariateki kangaekata. Nihonjin no tame no
Itaria nymon [The Italian Way of Thinking. An Introduction
to Italy for the Japanese]. Tokyo: Chikuma shob?, 1997 (3rd
reprint 1998)
Guest co-editor of a special issue of Versus. Quaderni di
studi semiotici on Japanese culture (forthcoming 2000)
