The University of Vienna (Centre for Molecular Biology) and the Medical University of Vienna (Department of Medical Biochemistry) both harbour strong research groups in the field of Molecular Biology. In order to strengthen their cooperation the two universities have created the Max F. Perutz Laboratories (MFPL) as a joint venture. MFPL has a strong focus on the promotion of young scientists and increases the cooperation with the research institutes and companies at the Campus Vienna Biocenter.
