IR-spektroskopische Untersuchungen von Mineralen und anorganischen Festkörpern (Angewandte Mineralspektroskopie):

  • Quantitative Bestimmung von Wasserstoffspuren
  • Entwicklung von Modellen des strukturellen OH-Defekteinbaues in nominell wasserfreien silikatischen und nicht-silikatischen Mineralphasen
  • Strukturelle Entwicklung von Precursoren keramischer Mineralphasen (Mullit, Cordierit)
  • Untersuchung von Ordnungs/Unordnungszuständen in Mullit-Typ Verbindungen
  • Gemmologische Fragestellungen im Zusammenhang mit Synthesen und Behandlungen

Mineralogische Untersuchungen von Rohstoffen (Lagerstättenmineralogie):

  • Vergleichende Untersuchungen von Siderit- und Magnesitlagerstätten in Hinblick auf genetische Fragestellungen (sedimentär/hydrothermal-metasomatisch)
  • Mangan- und Wolfram-Mineralisationen in karbonatischen Gesteinen (Jurassische Manganvererzungen, Scheelit-Wolframit Paragenesen)

Untersuchungen des optischen Verhaltens absorbierender Minerale (Auflichtmikroskopie):

  • Auflichtoptische Charakterisierung von Erzmineralparagenesen
