Joy Whitenack is Associate Professor of Mathematics Education in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at Virginia Commonwealth University. She teaches mathematics and mathematics education courses in the certification and the mathematics specialist programs. Her research interests include children’s number sense, instructional design and teacher leadership.
