COVID: Current situation
In Austria, the measures against the coronavirus will be extensively relaxed from 5 March onwards. The regulations should be phased out gradually by summer. Normal operations should prevail again as of 30 June, according to the decision of the Federal Government. Accordingly, the COVID measures at the University of Vienna will also be gradually phased out from March 2023 onwards.
- At the Vienna University Library, seat reservation remains mandatory regardless of COVID at seven special libraries, in the large reading room, the catalogue room, the textbook collection and the periodicals room at Teinfaltstrasse.
- In courses and exams students can no longer claim deviating modes of assessment due to COVID-19 from the summer semester of 2023 onwards.
- During events, persons who have tested positive for COVID-19 currently must wear an FFP2 face mask. Events with more than 500 participants still require a COVID-19 prevention plan.
