International Symposium in Honour of Peer Vries

Prof. Peer Vries unfortunately leaves the University of Vienna. In his honour a symposium on Empire, State and Growth. Political Economies of the Pre-industrial World and Beyond will be held on June 17th and 18th 2016. Thomas Ertl and Andreas Obenaus, the two organizers, managed to get together a bunch of people connected with Peer: present and former students, colleagues and friends from Vienna, London, Ghent or Tokyo. H-Net’s (rather limited) new book channel on Global History

H-Net recently launched a new book announcement service, including a section on new global history books. However, until now the service only announces books published by Oxford University Press and Clarendon Press. There’s definitely more out there H-Net! Let’s hope they’ll expand. Here’s the Link.
