Poster theme: Time and frequency illustration of noise shaping achieved by sigma-delta modulation in comparison to simple rounding (PCM) of sample values. The signal is shown in black, its PCM version in yellow, and first and second-order sigma-delta modulation in gray and blue. The frequency plot shows the error signals shaped by these modulation schemes whereas the time plot shows their quantized outputs.
