This project (1996/97) is funded by the "Fonds der Hochschuljubiläums-Stiftung der Stadt Wien". The aim is analysis of musical signals using time-frequency methods, in particular Gabor related methods. The project will be carried out by Monika Dörfler, as part of her PhD-thesis (on a related topic), being best qualified due to her double qualification (as an active musician as well as a mathematician trained in time-frequency methods). She has already obtained a short two-month travel fellowship (May-June 1995) which has enabled her to visit the very active group around D.Wakefield at Ann Arbor/MI/USA. |
