"Adhoc method to obtain the time-frequency representation back from reassigned STFT magnitude"

Time-Frequency Representation (TFR) technique has been extensively used to analyze non-stationary signals for the past umpteen years. There are several TFR techniques, out of which TF reassignment is one such method . Despite being an efficient tool to analyze signals, it has not gained much popularity because of its non-bilinear nature i.e., reconstruction of the original signal is not possible from this transform. Therefore, as a way to address this shortcoming, we present an ad-hoc approach to invert the reassigned TFR to approximate the Short Time Fourier Transform (STFT) magnitude which is then used to estimate the original TF coefficients.
