"Randomness in time-frequency analysis and acoustical modelling"

Abreu, Luis Daniel

The contents of this talk lie at the interface of time-frequency analysis and probability. It will report on the applications of the aggregated behavior of accumulated spectrograms in the analysis of the Weyl-Heisenberg ensemble (a very general determinantal point process related to the eigenvalues of complex gaussian random matrices and other physical Ginibre-type processes) and in the design of spectral estimators of non-stationary signals. Related recent work done at the Acoustics Research Institute and by other groups regarding the modelling or random acoustic signals will also be mentioned.
