Caroline Berghammer

Sociologist Caroline Berghammer and her team will create new knowledge on how contemporary families combine employment and family in the context of flexible working with her ERC funded project FLIN. They will examine the implications of the "new normal" (post-COVID-19 pandemic) of flexible working on three areas: (1) family time: time with children and partner; (2) distribution of (un)paid work: childcare, housework, employment; (3) childbearing and partnership dissolution. In addition, social inequalities will be considered within the FLIN project. The project compares across different countries and takes into account the institutional and cultural context.
