"National borders have largely lost their significance within the European Union. Not only economic life, but also social life now often extends across several Member States. The law has not always been able to keep pace with this development. For example, there is still no genuine European tax system. My research deals with the various levels of law, looks at their relationship and points out occasions and opportunities for readjustment." (Caroline Heber)
