Research areas:

* Involvement of oral and extraoral chemoreceptors (especially sweet taste receptors and TRP channels) in cellular metabolic functions
* Determinants of chemoreceptor activation & structure-activity relationship analyzes of aroma and taste active compounds
* Effects of food ingredients on chemoreceptor development

"Chemoreceptors influence not only the selection of food through taste perception but also various areas of human metabolism - this means that chemoreceptors are of great importance in health economics." (Barbara songs)
