The Univie Awards recognises outstanding achievements by our university staff, including the Univie Teaching Awards and the Univie Entrepreneurship Awards.
Univie Teaching Awards
Teaching is very important to us. That is why the University of Vienna honors outstanding achievements and provides a platform for successful teaching. The Teaching Award is presented annually to outstanding courses offered by the participating faculties. Would you like to nominate someone for the Univie Teaching Award? The categories and criteria for submission can be found on the respective faculty or center website. The Teaching Star will be selected from all winners on November 20, 2026, as part of “Teaching Inspires.”

- Faculty of Philological and Cultural Studies (in German language)

- Faculty of Mathematics (in German language)

- Faculty of Life Sciences
- Centre for Sport Science and University Sports (in German language)
- Max Perutz Labs
- Centre for Microbiology and Environmental Systems Science
Univie Entrepreneurship Awards
Around 85,000 students, 11,000 employees and 9,000 graduates each year have great entrepreneurial potential. With the Entrepreneurship Award, we recognise founders for their innovative ideas. The award ceremony takes place as part of Entrepreneurship Night. At this networking event, successful founders provide insights into entrepreneurial practice.
