- 2005-2007 Master's degree in German Studies at the University of Strasbourg, specializing in contemporary history and the history of ideas
- 2007-2012 Doctoral studies in German Studies and History at the Universities of Strasbourg and Vienna (Cotutelle; passed with “excellent results”). Member of the European Doctoral College in Strasbourg.
- 2008 Agrégation externe (France's highest teaching qualification) in German Studies, ranked 6th out of 303 candidates
