My research
My research looks at how many children people have and at what age, which helps us understand how populations change over time in Europe and beyond. These changes shape everyday life, since they determine how many schools, hospitals, or housing units will be needed in the future, as well as how we plan for pensions and other social systems. Population trends are also central to the economy and to long-term questions of sustainability. The knowledge we provide informs population policies, placing people’s reproductive rights and well-being at the centre, while helping societies prepare for the future.
