"Digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) are increasingly permeating all areas of life and changing our society in the long term. The digital transformation opens up completely new opportunities for information appropriation, identity formation and social relationships, but at the same time also harbors numerous risks, as these new technologies place unprecedented demands on individuals and society as a whole. A particular focus of my research is therefore on investigating how a self-determined and self-reflective approach to media innovations can be promoted. This is particularly important in childhood and adolescence, but remains relevant throughout life due to the constantly changing media environment." (Desirée Schmuck)
