"Digitisation and datafication are leading to a fundamental change in our society, but this is not just a technical matter and should not be treated as such. Especially for digitally informed humanities and cultural studies, these developments open up new possibilities that I would like to explore in my research on digital editing, but also critically examine in order to contribute new perspectives and models to a pluralistic view and conceptualisation of this change and to promote an enlightened, responsible approach to such digitisation and datafication processes, which - whether one likes it or not - do not stop at cultural studies objects." (Gabriel Viehhauser)
